Political violence kills about 15 Algerians every day. Foreigners, Jews and Christians are singled out by the radical Armed Islamic Group, many of whom are teenagers. Human rights activists allege that pro-government death squads roam the cities and rural areas seeking out suspected Islamic militants and their relatives.
